Weapon seminar

On Sunday 9th May John held a weapon seminar of 4 hours for members and non members.
The seminar started with basic Jo work, followed by Jo taking techniques.
This was followed with techniques against a Bokken. This is still a serious threat confirmed by a police officer.
Next on the menu was how to defend yourself with a magazine against an attacker. Knowledge about Dim Mak was very helpful. Those techniques with a magazine caused more bruises then any other weapon practiced during this seminar.
It was demonstrated how effective a magazine can be as a weapon.
Finally techniques against knife attacks were practiced.
There is still a lot more to learn.
The next weapon seminar will be held 27th June. Make sure you have a place on this seminar because numbers are limited due to work with weapons.

Dim Mak seminar

On the 28th March a Dim Mak seminar was held for a Karate club, Godoryu Karate (of which Paul Smith is Chief Instructor). The seminar was run by John
There was a good attendance. Paul only had some of his black belts and some brown belts attending the course. They even came from Southampton and Yeovil.
All together there were 20 attendees. This seminar was a success and there are already requests for the basic Dim Mak course.
It was a pleasure to teach this group, who are open minded for other martial arts as well and we are looking forward to see them back.
