I began my martial arts journey at a young age with Judo, later expanding my training to include Karate.

After joining the Royal Netherlands Navy, I started practicing Aikido, which was soon followed by Ju Jitsu and Aiki Jujitsu. During my time in the Navy, I also resumed training in Judo.

Later on, I became a certified instructor in Kyusho Jitsu, also known as Dim Mak—the art and science of pressure point fighting. This method, which has roots in Aiki Jujitsu, has been practiced for several centuries as a refined and highly effective combat system.

In 1991, after completing a nine-month course, I successfully passed my examinations and earned a government-recognized diploma as a certified martial arts instructor.
